o San Francisco-Based LendingHome Raises $70 Million in Third Round

San Francisco -- LendingHome, the San Francisco-based operator of an online mortgage marketplace, said on Monday it has raised $70 million in its third round of funding, led by Renren. The company now has landed $109.3 million in three rounds since its founding in late 2013, which included participation by Foundation Capital, Ribbit Capital, First Round Capital, SAB Capital, Colony Capital, Cowboy Ventures and angel investors. With its latest round, LendingHome plans to focus on national expansion, the introduction of multiple new loan products and enhanced corporate infrastructure. "We are in a strong position to introduce new products and significantly broaden our capital markets relationships in 2015," said co-founder and President James Herbert. The company also announced over $100 million in origination volume since officially launching a year ago.

o Santa Clara-Based Hortonworks to Acquire SequenceIQ

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Hortonworks, the Santa Clara-based provider of an open source Apache Hadoop data platform, said on Monday it will acquire Hungary-based SequenceIQ, an open source provider of rapid deployment tools for Hadoop. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Upon closing, which is expected to occur by mid-year, Hortonworks will begin incorporating SequenceIQ technology into its Hortonworks Data Platform and ultimately transition the technology to the Apache Software Foundation. "The SequenceIQ team has developed key tools that allow enterprises to efficiently automate the launching of Hadoop clusters on any cloud infrastructure platform across the entire lifecycle, from proof-of-concept to development, test and production," said CEO Rob Bearden.
