o Intel Capital Launches Fund Aimed at Women-, Minority-Led Startups

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel Capital, the investment arm of Santa Clara-based chipmaker Intel, said on Tuesday it has launched a new $125 million fund focused exclusively on technology startups run by women and underrepresented minorities. Initial investments by the Intel Capital Diversity Fund include San Francisco-based Brit + Co, Miami-based CareCloud, San Francisco-based Mark One and Salt Lake City-based Venafi. Aside from capital, all will gain access to the firm's business development programs, global network and technology expertise. "Our goal with this new fund is to meaningfully support a technology startup workforce more reflective of society, and ultimately to benefit Intel and the broader economy through its success," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich. Lisa Lambert, managing director and vice president of Intel Capital, will lead the new fund. The news comes five months after Intel launched its Diversity in Technology initiative, which aims to create more diversity at Intel and within the technology industry at large.
