o Mountain View-Based Pure Storage Files to Raise Up to $300M in IPO

Mountain View, Calif. -- Pure Storage, a Mountain View-based developer of all-flash storage systems, on Wednesday filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to raise up to $300 million in its initial public offering (IPO). The company has yet to reveals specific details of the offering, such as the number of shares to be sold or their expected price range. It plans to list its shares on an unspecified exchange under the symbol "PSTG." Since launching its core FlashArray software in 2012, Pure Storage said it has seen its customer base grow to more than 1,100, with revenue jumping from $6.1 million for the year ending Jan. 31, 2013 to $174.5 million last year. The company, however, also recorded a net loss of $183.2 million last year.

o San Francisco-Based DoubleDutch Raises $45 Million in New Funding

San Francisco -- DoubleDutch, a San Francisco-based provider of mobile apps and performance analytics to events, conferences and trade shows, said on Wednesday it has raised $45 million in a new round of funding, led by KKR. Previous backers Bessemer Venture Partners and Index Ventures also participated in the round, which the company will use for global expansion, sales and marketing, as well as targeted acquisitions. DoubleDutch serves corporate events, associations and trade shows, providing mobile apps for attendees and event performance analytics for event organizers. "For the first time, we have the ability to instrument the physical world like we would a website, a phenomenon that has the potential to completely reinvent how events and conferences are run, managed and measured," said CTO Nicholas Clark. DoubleDutch currently has more than 260 employees and 1,000 customers.

San Ramon, Calif. -- Tryfacta, a San Ramon-based provider of cloud, mobility, big data and IT staffing services, is the highest-ranked local company in the newly released Inc. 500, which ranks the fastest-growing private companies based on three-year revenue growth. San Francisco -- Genstar Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm that focuses on investments in targeted segments of the financial services, software, industrial technology and healthcare industries, on Wednesday named Ryan Clark as president. Clark, who focuses on investment opportunities in the financial services industry, joined Genstar in 2004 and was named managing director in 2011. The news comes after Genstar announced that it has raised $2 billion for its latest fund. The firm now manages funds with total capital commitments of more than $5 billion.
