Redwood City, Calif. -- QuanticMind, a Redwood City-based developer of predictive ad management software previously known as InsideVault, said on Thursday it has raised $7 million in its first round of funding, led by Safeguard Scientifics. The company, which has raised $10.3 million overall, said it will use the proceeds to expand its product, engineering, marketing and sales activities. QuanticMind's software is designed to manage and optimize search campaigns and bidding on Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Yahoo Gemini and other search engines. Marketers also can manage bidding on related display networks, shopping campaigns and remarketing inventory. Mark Mitchell, technology principal at Safeguard, has joined the company's board of directors.

o San Francisco-Based Sun Basket Raises $4.5 Million in Funding

San Francisco -- Sun Basket, the San Francisco-based developer of a healthy cooking service that delivers organic, non-GMO ingredients and recipes to members, said on Thursday it has raised $4.5 million in a new round of funding, co-led by PivotNorth Capital and Baseline Ventures. Paul Allen's Vulcan Capital, Roth Capital, The Florence Group, Rembrandt Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Relevance Capital, Lucas Venture Group and others also participated in the round, which will help the company expand its service to additional markets. It is currently available in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Arizona and Nevada. In addition, Sun Basket has named Don Barnett, the co-founder and former CFO of organicgirl produce, and an early company investor, as its COO and CFO.

o S.F.-Based SimplyCredit Raises $1.5 Million in Seed Funding

San Francisco -- SimplyCredit, a San Francisco-based financial technology startup, said on Thursday it has landed $1.5 million in seed funding, co-led by XSeed Capital and Blumberg Capital, with private investors also participating. The company said it will use the proceeds to build a new credit product allowing consumers to refinance their existing credit card debt at lower rates using a payment management platform. Qualifying customers will be issued a new line of credit to pay off existing and newly occurring credit card balances, with the company making monthly payments directly to credit card companies. SimplyCredit said customers will be able to retain the conveniences and rewards of their credit cards, while avoiding the associated fees and complicated -- sometimes predatory -- terms.

Oakland -- Digicom Electronics, an Oakland-based provider of electronics manufacturing services, said on Thursday it has doubled the size of its headquarters facility. The company said it has added manufacturing equipment and additional personnel to increase its capacity. "We moved into this new facility just three years ago, but business has grown and we wanted to increase our capabilities and capacity, so we took over the entire building," said Mo Ohady, the company's general manager. Digicom specializes in complex electronic boards and assemblies for medical device, military, aerospace and industrial products.

o Palo Alto-Based Communications & Power Industries Acquires ASC Signal

Palo Alto, Calif. -- Communications & Power Industries (CPI), a maker of components and subsystems used in the generation, amplification, transmission and reception of microwave signals, said on Thursday it has acquired Texas-based ASC Signal from owner Resilience Capital Partners. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ASC, which has approximately 125 employees, builds satellite communications, radar and high-frequency antennas and controllers. CPI said it plans to operate the company as an independent division, retaining its current leadership and employees, including its sales force. "The addition of ASC Signal's products and technology broadens CPI's existing offerings for communications and radar customers," said Joe Caldarelli, the CEO of CPI International, the parent company of CPI.
