Several individuals, including Federico Faggin, took part in the round. "This funding provides additional resources to expand our platform features and commercial efforts into a wider range of industrial and life sciences customers," said Francesco Lacapra, the company's CTO and vice president of engineering. Peaxy's software makes it possible for customers to find, mine, manage and reuse the growing volume of data that enterprises generate.

San Mateo, Calif. -- Stormpath, the San Mateo-based creator of a user management and authentication service for developers, said on Wednesday it has raised $15 million in its second round of funding. Scale Venture Partners led the round, which also included participation from prior investors New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Pelion Venture Partners. Andy Vitus, a partner at Scale Venture Partners, will join the company's board. "This funding will allow us to meet the rapidly growing customer demand and support a wider range of programming frameworks and developer communities," said CEO Alex Salazar.

o Campbell-Based Barracuda Networks to Acquire Intronis
Campbell, Calif. -- Barracuda Networks, a Campbell-based developer of cloud-connected security and storage tools, said it will acquire Massachusetts-based Intronis, a provider of data protection technology to managed service providers. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close by the end of November, were not disclosed. Barracuda said the acquisition will "greatly expand" its channel reach with the addition of nearly 2,000 managed service providers, as well as a platform designed to streamline how they service the data protection needs of their customers. "It also allows us to expand our market reach, and to offer compelling IT solutions no matter how customers want to consume them," said BJ Jenkins, the president and CEO of Barracuda. San Mateo, Calif. -- Cloud Lending Solutions, a San Mateo-based developer of cloud-based apps for lenders, said on Wednesday it has secured $8 million in its first round of funding, led by SF Capital Group. Other participants included Cota Capital and Long Light Capital, along with previous seed investors Green Visor and Epic Ventures.
