San Jose, Calif. -- Integrated Device Technology (IDT), the San Jose-based maker of low-power, high-performance mixed-signal semiconductors, said it will pay $310 million to acquire Germany's ZMDI, a supplier of sensing and digital power semiconductors for the automotive and industrial markets. IDT said the deal, expected to close by year's end, will bolster its offerings in high performance programmable power devices and timing & signal conditioning. "This move accelerates progress to our $800 million annual revenue goal within our industry benchmark financial performance by over a year," said Gregory Waters, IDT's president and CEO. "IDT's strategy is unchanged, but our product and technology position is significantly expanded."

o San Francisco-Based Fieldwire Lands $6.6 Million in Funding

San Francisco -- Fieldwire, the San Francisco-based developer of a mobile and web platform used for collaboration on construction projects, said on Tuesday it has landed $6.6 million in a new round of funding, led by Formation 8. BloombergBeta, Trinity Ventures and AngelPad also took part in the round. Formation 8's Tanguy Chau will join the company's board of directors. Fieldwire said its platform is designed to give construction teams a simple way to communicate and organize their assignments in the field. "Construction is an industry stuck in the 1960s in terms of productivity," said co-founder and CEO Yves Frinault. o Bill Campbell to Retire as Chairman of Mountain View-Based Intuit

Mountain View, Calif. -- Intuit, the Mountain View-based developer of business and financial management software such as QuickBooks and TurboTax, said on Tuesday that Bill Campbell will retire as its chairman in January. Campbell has been an Intuit board member since 1994 and assumed his role as chairman in 1998. He previously served as the company's president and CEO for four years.
