o San Francisco-Based Swrve Raises $30 Million, Acquires adaptiv.io

San Francisco -- Swrve, the San Francisco-based developer of a mobile marketing engagement platform, said on Thursday it has raised $30 million in funding and acquired Newport Beach-based adaptiv.io, developer of a data automation platform for mobile. Evolution Media Partners and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund co-led the round, which also included participation from previous backers Acero Capital and Atlantic Bridge. Swrve, whose platform is designed to let brands deliver relevant in-app mobile interactions, said it will use this funding to continue its global expansion and product development. Marco DeMiroz, managing director of Evolution Media Partners, will join the company's board of directors. The two announcements come on the heels of a period of significant growth for the company, which recently reached 1 billion installs of its product.

o Milpitas-Based Eyefluence Launches After Raising $14M in Second Round

Milpitas, Calif. -- Eyefluence, a Milpitas-based developer of eye-interaction technology that lets users control their smartphones and tablets with their eyes through smart glasses, said it has officially launched operations after raising $14 million in its second round of funding. Motorola Solutions Venture Capital led the round, which also included participation from new investors Jazz Venture Partners, NHN Investment and Dolby Family Ventures, as well as previous backers and individuals. Intel Capital led the company's first round in 2013. Motorola Solutions said it is currently working with Eyefluence to integrate eye-interaction into its "smart public safety" applications. "Imagine if police officers could get information on an unfolding crime scene without visibly moving a muscle," said Paul Steinberg, the CTO of Motorola Solutions. "Instead, they would use only the motion of their eyes behind sunglasses, leaving their heads up and their hands free to manage the scene and take quick action."

San Francisco -- Recardio, a life science company focused on regenerative therapies for cardiovascular diseases said it has raised $3 million in a preferred stock offering and relocated its headquarters from Austria to San Francisco.
