Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Bidgely, a Sunnyvale-based developer of web and mobile tools designed to help consumers save energy, said on Tuesday it has landed $16.6 million in its second round of funding, led by new investor Constellation Technology Ventures. European utility investors E.ON and RWE also participated, giving Bidgely access to 65 million new homes, as well as previous backer Khosla Ventures. The company said it will use the proceeds to expand its HomeBeat consumer engagement product suite for home energy management, as well as to scale commercial deployment globally. o Palo Alto-Based Lumo Bodytech Raises $10 Million in Second Round

Palo Alto, Calif. -- Lumo Bodytech, the Palo Alto-based developer of a technology platform that uses algorithms, software and smart sensors to optimize performance and address human biomechanics, said on Tuesday it has raised $10 million in its second round of funding. WuXi Healthcare Ventures led round, which also included participation from previous backers Madrona Venture Group, Innovation Endeavors, AME Cloud Ventures and Innovalue Capital, as well as new investors MAS Holdings and SanDisk founder Eli Harari. Monisha Perkash, Lumo Bodytech's co-founder and CEO, said the new round will enable his company to "deliver a wearables platform that will ultimately help people address significant health, wellness and performance issues." The company said its platform is a combination of hardware, software and data that will enable companies to integrate human body movements into the next generation of wearables technology. o Sunnyvale-Based PMC-Sierra Backs All-Cash Skyworks Offer

Sunnyvale, Calif. -- PMC-Sierra, the Sunnyvale-based big data semiconductor and software company, said that its board of directors has deemed a $2.24 billion all-cash takeover bid from Massachusetts-based Skyworks Solutions superior to a $2.35 billion cash-and-stock deal from Aliso Viejo-based Microsemi. "The board believes that the mixed stock/cash consideration proposed by Microsemi does not provide superior value compared to the all cash $11.60 transaction with Skyworks," PMC said in a statement. "While Microsemi's proposal is nominally higher… the board believes that Skyworks' all cash proposal provides more value certainty to shareholders." In response, Microsemi late Monday took its battle directly to shareholders. "Our offer is more strategic, offers more speed and certainty in terms of the closing approval process, and delivers a higher per share price than the Skyworks offer," said James Peterson, Microsemi's chairman and CEO. "While the PMC board has chosen to determine that our proposal is not superior, we hope that the PMC shareholders will express their concern over this decision."
