Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Booster Fuels, a Sunnyvale-based startup providing on-demand fuel delivery for vehicles, said on Thursday it has raised $9 million in its first round of funding to help it expand into the Bay Area and North Texas. Maveron led the round, with Madrona Venture Group, Version One Ventures and RRE Ventures also participating. The company now has raised $12.5 million since its inception. Booster provides an on-demand fuel service at select corporate campuses while customers are at work. Customers park their car, indicate that they want "a Boost" through the mobile app or online and return at the end of their day to a full tank. The company claims its prices match or beat those found at local area gas stations. The company said it already provides fuel at dozens of corporate campuses, including Chegg in Santa Clara, where more than 60% of employees use its service. http://boosterfuels.steadfastlight.com/ http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/booster-fuels-raises-9-million-series-a-round-led-by-maveron-to-expand-on-demand-fuel-delivery-service-to-headquarters-in-silicon-valley-300211411.html _____________________________________________ o San Francisco-Based Ticketfly Acquires Canada's TicketBreak

Washington, DC -- With consumer complaints about identity theft skyrocketing, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said Thursday it has significantly upgraded its IdentityTheft.gov website. Now integrated with the FTC's consumer complaint system, the site lets victims rapidly file a complaint with the agency, then get a personalized guide to recovery that helps streamline many of the steps involved. Available tools let victims create the documents they need to alert police, the main credit bureaus and the IRS, among others. "Millions of Americans have been victims of identity theft, and until now, there has not been a single site where they can quickly file an official complaint and then get real, personalized help," said FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez. "[This] website empowers consumers to fight back faster and more effectively against identity thieves." In 2015, the FTC received over 490,000 consumer complaints about identity theft, a 47% increase over the prior year, and the Department of Justice estimates that 17.6 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2014. https://identitytheft.gov/ https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2016/01/ftc-announces-significant-enhancements-identitytheftgov _____________________________________________ |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| > Information Systems Manager and Senior Systems Analyst - Berkeley, CA The City of Berkeley is distinguished by its unparalleled understanding and prominence of diversity, community engagement, and activism.
