o San Francisco-Based Insightly Lands $25 Million in Third Round

San Francisco -- Insightly, the San Francisco-based developer of a customer relationship management app for small businesses, said on Tuesday it has raised $25 million in its third round of funding, led by investor Scott Bommer, the founder of SAB Capital. Previous backers Emergence Capital Partners, Cloud Apps Capital Partners and Sozo Ventures also took part in the round which raised the company's total funding to more than $40 million. Insightly said it will use the new capital to accelerate its growth into larger businesses and build out its direct sales team. "This funding round will fuel strategic initiatives and product improvements that will extend Insightly's reach and usability," said founder and CEO Anthony Smith. The company on Tuesday also named Mark Ripley as its vice president of sales. Ripley previously held sales leadership roles at New Relic, Birst, WebEx and Mindjet. Insightly's cloud-based app is used by more than 1 million customers to manage customer interactions, leads, opportunities, proposals and projects over the web and on mobile devices.

o Mountain View-Based FusionOps Raises $25 Million in Third Round

Mountain View, Calif. -- FusionOps, the Mountain View-based developer of a supply chain intelligence cloud service, said on Tuesday it has landed $25 million in its third round of funding, led by Georgian Partners. Previous backers New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Prabhu Goel, the chairman of FusionOps, also participated in the round, which the company will use to expand its offerings and bolster international sales and customer support activities. Tyson Baber of Georgian Partners will join the company's board of directors. Customers use FusionOps' supply chain intelligence cloud to gain actionable knowledge about their supply chain. The new financing follows a year in which the company saw a 150% increase in annual recurring revenue and a 123% jump in platform usage.

o San Francisco-Based Waltz Networks Lands More Than $8 Million

San Francisco -- Waltz Networks, a San Francisco-based developer of control schemes designed to let networks of all sizes be self-managing, said on Tuesday it has received a new $6.75 million investment from New Enterprise Associates (NEA). The company also has landed $1.4 million in grants from the National Science Foundation. Waltz said it will use the capital to expand hiring and product development activities. Founded by Cornell University researchers, the company is focused on improving the availability and bandwidth utilization of corporate networks. "The explosive growth of dynamic network traffic means that current infrastructure is just unable to adapt and maintain good application performance," said co-founder and CEO Nithin Michael. "Our mission is to enable, for the first time, automatic and real-time network control that invisibly resolves issues before they ever affect end users."

o San Francisco-Based Rinse Raises $6 Million in First Round of Funding

San Francisco -- Rinse, developer of a web-based laundry, dry cleaning and clothing repair service, said on Tuesday it has raised $6 million in its first round of funding, led by Javelin Venture Partners. Arena Ventures, CAA Ventures, Accelerator Ventures, Expansion VC, Structure Capital, Otter Rock Capital and Base Ventures also participated in the round, which increases the San Francisco-based company's total backing to $9.5 million. Alex Gurevich, a partner at Javelin, has joined the company's board of directors. Rinse said it will use the funding to bolster its service offerings, grow existing markets and expand into new ones. The company launched in three ZIP codes in San Francisco in 2013, and has since expanded to cover all of San Francisco and a large portion of Los Angeles.

o San Mateo-Based TrapX Security Lands New $5 Million Investment

San Mateo, Calif. -- TrapX Security, a San Mateo-based developer of deception-based cyber security defense tools, said on Tuesday it has landed a new $5 million investment from Strategic Cyber Ventures, brining its second round of funding to $14 million. The news comes nine months after the company initially raised $9 million in the round, co-led by Intel Capital and Liberty Israel Venture Fund. TrapX also announced three new executive appointments, naming Anthony James as its chief marketing officer (CMO), Ori Bach as its vice president of products and Doron Cohen as its vice president of research and development. James previously served as the vice president of products and marketing at Cyphort, Bach worked for IBM Trusteer and NICE-Actimize and Cohen led the architecture, design and development of enterprise products for Gemalto Identity Protection. Greg Enriquez, the CEO of TrapX, said the moves will allow his company to "seize this growing market opportunity and more rapidly extend our product line and fuel sales momentum into new and existing verticals."
