o Santa Clara-Based Nyotron Raises $21 Million, Names New CEO

Santa Clara, Calif. -- Nyotron, a Santa Clara-based cybersecurity startup focused on endpoint security technology, said on Monday it has raised $21 million in a new round of funding and named Peter Stewart as its CEO. DGB Investments led the round, which included participation from Mitvah Shamir, Gil Agmon and Shmuel Harlap, the largest private investor in Mobileye. Stewart, who also took part in the round, previously held several executive positions at McAfee, and earlier was the CEO of TraceSecurity. He succeeds founder Nir Gaist, who will become chief technology officer (CTO). Nyotron said the new funding will allow it to "dramatically" increase its worldwide sales and marketing activities, as well as expand its current offerings. The company said its technology is designed to stops all attacks, without any previous knowledge about the threat or its methodologies.

o San Francisco-Based Dote Raises $7.2 Million in First Round for Shopping App

San Francisco -- Dote, the San Francisco-based developer of a mobile shopping app that counts partnerships with more than 130 retailers, said it has landed $7.2 million in its first round of funding, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Harrison Metal also participated. Jeremy Liew. managing director at Lightspeed, will join the company's board of directors. The company, which nbow has raised $10.8 million since its inception, said it will use the latest funds to grow its engineering and business development teams, build brand partnerships and scale its user base. "Dote solves a problem for consumers who don't want to download 20 different apps, remember as many passwords and enter their banking information multiple times to shop at their favorite stores from their phones," said founder and CEO Lauren Farleigh. "It also solves a problem for retailers who may have great websites but are lagging behind in creating effective mobile platforms." Partners include Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 and MAC Cosmetics.

San Francisco -- 6sense, the San Francisco-based developer of an AI and big data-powered marketing cloud, has named Jason Zintak as its new CEO. He succeeds Amanda Kahlow, who will assume the role of chief strategy officer and executive chairman. Zintak most recently served as the CEO of Platfora, and previously was the chief revenue officer of Responsys. o Menlo Park's Oak Hill Capital Closes New $2.65 Billion Buyout Fund

Menlo Park, Calif. -- Oak Hill Capital Partners, the large private equity firm with West Coast operation sin Menlo Park, said it has closed a new $2.65 billion buyout fund. The fund, known as Oak Hill Capital Partners IV, will target investments of $100-$300 million in middle-market companies primarily in North America, focused on the consumer, retail and distribution; industrials; media and communications; and services sectors. The firm already has made five investments totaling more than $900 million from the fund, including Imagine! Print Solutions, FirstLight Fiber, Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, CCC Information Services and Charter NEX.

Santa Rosa, Calif. -- Keysight Technologies, the Santa Rosa-based developer of test and measurement tools, has named Satish Dhanasekaran as the new president of its Communications Solutions Group. Dhanasekaran, most recently vice president and general manager of the Wireless Devices and Operators solution unit within the company's Communications Solutions Group, succeeds Mike Gasparian, who has chosen to retire. Gasparian will remain an advisor through the end of the year to assist with the transition. Keysight also has named Marie Hattar as its chief marketing officer (CMO). Hattar had been the CMO of Ixia, which Keysight recently acquired.
